Alan Mercer

Hi, I’m Alan – a fully qualified DVSA approved driving instructor. I qualified in 1987 and currently giving driving lessons in Portsmouth, Waterlooville, Petersfield and surrounding areas.

I joined the Royal Navy in 1965 and was trained in electronic warfare. I became a driving instructor in 1987 and worked in my own business before joining 1st Castle. “I am a people person and enjoy the one to one interaction the job requires. I think my forte is teaching pupils who are particularly nervous and enjoy watching the change in them as they build in to a really confident driver”.

I am married with 2 children and 3 grandchildren. My hobbies are golf, walking and believe it or not, D I Y.
