🆕 What’s Changing?
Here’s a breakdown of the key updates that driving schools and learners need to understand:
1. Learners Must Book Their Own Test
From spring 2026, only learner drivers will be able to book and manage their own practical driving tests — instructors will no longer be able to make bookings on behalf of their students. This is intended to reduce the misuse of the current booking system by third-party services and automated bots that buy up slots and resell them at higher prices.
2. Limited Changes to Test Bookings
Learners will be allowed a maximum of 2 changes to their test booking overall — this includes changes to date, time, or location. Once both change allowances are used, learners must cancel and rebook if they need further adjustments.
3. Restricted Test Centre Moves
If a learner needs to change their test location, it will only be allowed within a defined area around the original centre — preventing tests from being moved far away to centres with high demand.
